It’s Day 6 of the Championship Series and we’ve got ourselves exciting series in both leagues.

The Texas Rangers suffered a devastating loss on Friday, with Jose Altuve hitting a go-ahead three-run homer in the ninth inning to secure a 5-4 win for the Houston Astros. The ALCS will shift back to Houston with the Astros one win away from a chance to defend their title.

In the National League, it seemed as if the Arizona Diamondbacks might be done after getting shut out 10-0 by the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 at Citizens Bank Park, but the D-backs walked it off at home in Game 3 to bring the series to 2-1. Can they even the series with a win today?

We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know, from lineups to live in-game updates and analysis and takeaways from the ballpark after the final pitch.

Astros 5, Rangers 4: No team is better at ignoring the outside noise, overcoming adversity and coming out on top than these Astros, and never was that more evident than in the late stages of Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. Adolis Garcia had put the Rangers on top with a three-run, sixth-inning homer, then ignited a benches-clearing incident after getting hit by a first-pitch fastball two innings later, going after Astros catcher Martin Maldonado in the process.

The Astros seemed to be imploding; the Rangers looked like they’d move one win away from the pennant. Then Houston rallied. Yainer Diaz led off the ninth with a pinch-hit single, Jon Singleton drew a pinch-hit walk, and then Jose Altuve, who played in his 100th career postseason game a night earlier, delivered the three-run homer that gave his team the lead again. The Astros — in the ALCS for the seventh consecutive year, losers of the first two games of this series at home — are one win away from their fifth trip to the World Series since 2017.
