9:15pm An innings of two halves, really. In the first half, the ball was doing all sorts and PBKS reduced SRH to 66-4. They could not get rid of Nitish, though, and he stood tall, even as those around him perished. He registered his maiden IPL fifty and finished with 64 off 37. Samad, Shahbaz and Head also played cameos, and those knocks have helped SRH to get to 182, which did not seem llikely at the half-way stage.
Arshdeep was the standout bowler for the hosts. His last over went for 15 but with the new ball, he looked unplayable at times. He broke the back of SRH’s top order, with a two-wicket over that included the scalps of Head and Markram. Arshdeep then returned later to rip out Samad and Nitish, ensuring that SRH did not threaten a 200-plus score.
Curran and Harshal picked up two wickets apiece, while Rabada accounted for Cummins. PBKS will be relatively happy with the score they have to chase. SRH, though, will also feel they can make a match out of this, especially if they start well. Join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Arshdeep Singh: There was some movement to start off with. It was a little sticky. Then the dew came in and the wicket settled a little bit. I was very happy till the third over. It was a really good day, was trying to stick to my plans and deliver for my team. Hitting boundaries straight is relatively easy than hitting it square, so trying to make the most of it, and tried to use the wicket. Tried to bowl into the wicket and bowl wide yorkers also.
Curran to Unadkat, SIX, palmed over the bar, oh dear! Slower ball that sits up to be hit just outside off. Unadkat stands up tall and slams it towards long on. Harshal makes an absolute hash of it and pushes it over the fence too!
