Harlequins: Leigh Halfpenny among list of confirmed departures at Quins

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions back Leigh Halfpenny has had his impending Harlequins exit confirmed.

The 36-year-old had already been linked with a move to French second-tier club Beziers in the summer when his contract with Quins expires.

The former Scarlets, Toulon, Cardiff and Crusaders full-back has made just 10 appearances for the London club in his solitary season at Twickenham Stoop.

He is among a list of 18 players leaving Quins at the end of the season.

Retiring scrum-half Danny Care is the headline name among those already known to be leaving.

England centre Will Joseph and forward Will Trenholm are both joining Gloucester next season and hooker Nathan Jibulu will be at Sale next term, while the Wales duo of Wyn Jones and Dillon Lewis are heading to Dragons.

Second row Irne Herbst will join CA Brive, with fellow departing player Dino Lamb, external also reportedly close to a deal with the French side.

Lennox Anyanwu has also had his exit confirmed, with the centre reportedly set for a move to Montpellier., external

The big contingent moving on from the Stoop also includes Caleb Ashworth, Charlie Clare, Lewis Gjaltema, Tom Golder, George Hammond, George Head, Archie White and Roma Zheng.
