Jordan Spieth did not qualify for this week’s PGA Tour season opener, but that won’t stop his caddie from being inside the ropes.

Michael Greller, who has caddied for Spieth his entire professional career, will fill in for Max Homa’s regular caddie, Joe Greiner, at Kapalua, where Homa will compete in The Sentry.

Greller’s spot duty, which was first reported by PGATour.com’s Sean Martin, will be just for this event before Greiner returns to Homa’s bag for his boss’ next start during the West Coast swing.

Spieth is still recovering from August surgery to repair ulnar nerve damage in his left wrist. He told Golfweek in September, his arm fully wrapped and braced, that he expected to be playing again “at my ceiling” by Jan. 1, though he’s yet to announce when his 2025 debut will take place.

Homa is also expected to debut some new sponsors at Kapalua. He was photographed wearing clothes with no logos during a clinic on Monday, though he was wearing Puma golf shoes.
