The report on all matches from matchweek 5 is here.

Here are the details for matchweek 6 of ISL 2024-25 with the latest match report coming first.

NorthEast United 5 – 0 Jamshedpur FC

(Ajaraie 5′,90′, Gogoi 44′, 55′, Nickson 82′)

NorthEast United stopped high-flying Jamshedpur in their tracks with a display of attacking brilliance that saw them win 5-0 at home and climb to fifth. Aleaddine Ajaraie opened the scoring with a stunner before turning provider to Parthib Gogoi. The young Indian, playing centre-forward for the second game in a row, made it a brace after tucking in a MS Jithin set-up move. Young midfielder Macarton Nickson then scored a stunner from outside the box to make it four, before Ajaraie made it five after being sent through one-on-one in a swift counter.

In between the first and second goals, though, Jamshedpur’s Stephen Eze was sent off for a second yellow at the half-hour mark. Khalid Jamil’s men – already decidedly second best upto that point – never found a way back into the game. If the score didn’t emphasise NEUFC’s domination, how’s this for a stat – shots on goal, NEUFC 24, JFC 7.

Kerala Blasters 1-3 Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC won their first ISL away match in 598 days as they beat Kerala Blasters 3-1 in Kochi to go four points clear at the top of the table. Gerard Zaragoza’s team now have 16 points from their opening six games – the same as they had in 2018-19, when they eventually finished top of the league stages, and went on to win the ISL trophy.

Jorge Pereyra Diaz gave Bengaluru the lead with a stunning chip over goalkeeper Som Kumar after a poor giveaway from Pritam Kotal. However, the Blasters went into half-time with a deserved equaliser after Jesus Jimenez converted a penalty, which was awarded for Rahul Bheke’s tackle from behind on Kwame Peprah.

Substitute Mendez turned the game on its head late in the second half, as he first pounced on Som Kumar spilling Alberto Noguera’s cross to tap into an empty net. And then in injury time, with the Blasters pushing forward for the equaliser, he found himself with the freedom of the Blasters half of the field, to score his third goal of the season.

Chennaiyin FC 2-2 FC Goa

It was an entertaining game in Chennai to begin matchday 6 of the ISL this season, as Chennaiyin FC found a late equaliser through Daniel Chima Chukwu to deny Manolo Marquez’s FC Goa the full points.

After a good Goa start, it was Chennaiyin who took the lead, as Odei Onaindia’s clearance hit Wilman Jordan Gil and deflected into the net. Goa fought hard and found their equaliser in first half stoppage time, as Udanta Singh attacked a set-piece well, and saw the ball loop into the net off his shoulder.

Armando Sadiku then scored his fifth goal of the season, converting a penalty that was won by Dejan Drazic, who drew a foul from Samik Mitra. Eventually, in rather controversial circumstances, the equaliser came from Chukwu, whose header off a set-piece was palmed onto the crossbar by Laximkant Kattimani and then dribbled along the goal-line. The referee gave the goal, but there was no replay angle which showed that the whole of the ball had crossed the whole of the line.
