Duane Keith Davis Found Guilty in Tupac Shakur’s Murder
A jury found Duane Keith Davis guilty on Monday for orchestrating the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. He is the first and only person to be charged in the case that went unresolved for nearly 30 years.

“We, the jury in the above entitled case, find the defendant, Duane Keith Davis, as follows. Count 1: murder with the use of a deadly weapon. Guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon dated this 31st day of August 2026. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, is this your verdict as read, So say you one, so say you all?” “Yes.” “Given the jury’s verdict at this time, I’m going to hold Mr. Davis with no bail. We’ll be in recess.” “Excuse me.” “Yes, sir.” “I would like to have my stuff back. Computers, all the phones, everything. And I would like to appeal this matter.” “Of course, there will be an appeal, but that happens after sentencing.”
