Rory McIlroy is again a winner on the PGA Tour, taking home his second career Players Championship title.
In doing so, McIlroy picks up his second win of the season, the first time he’s had two victories before April in his career — and he did it using a full bag of TaylorMade gear.
It’s also another win for the TaylorMade Spider Tour X putter, which has become the winningest putter on Tour in recent years, with players like McIlroy and Scheffler, the two top players in the Official World Golf Ranking, trusting the club. Last season, 15 wins on the PGA Tour were claimed by golfers using Spider putters, the most of any single model.
McIlroy has bounced around with different finishes of the Spider Tour X over the years, but now he’s using a heavily customized Tour-only torched version.

This week, McIlroy was solid on the greens, finishing tenth in the field with just under five strokes gained on the greens for the week. He also went 15 for 16 on putts inside of 11 feet during the final round.
